About me

Bio-

I am final year B.Tech + M.Tech (Dual Degree) candidate at the Department of Engineering Design in Indian Insitute of Technology, Madras with a minor in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. I have been working as a Research Assistant at Probablistic Machine Learning Lab, Aalto University Finland guided by Prof. Samuel Kaski since May 2020-present and I joined there to complete my master’s thesis from August 2021 to January 2022. My co-guide is Prof. R Jayaganthan, Dept. of Engineering Design, IIT Madras, India.

My research interests lie at the intersection of artificial intelligence and computational cognition to facilitate human-AI/computer/robot interaction to develop assistive and collaborative frameworks. I am passionate about designing and developing frameworks that extend capabilities and improve the quality of lives of humans! I was awarded Aalto Science Insitite fellowship twice in 2020 and 2021 to conduct research at Aalto University, Finland. I was recipient of scholarship by Materials Research Society and International Conference on Materials for Advanced Technologies in 2019 for my efforts and contributions in the field of research of advanced technologies. I gave a talk about my research on machine learning based battery management systems at Battery Symposium, ICMAT 2019 held at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

Industry experience -

My most latest industry experience was as a Graduate AI intern at Systems and Algorithms Research lab, Intel Lab at Intel Corporation Banglore. Previously I have interned as Software Security intern at Intel Corporation, Banglore, India, AI intern at Advanced Data Management group, Siemens and research intern at Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Bombay.

Extra-curriculars-

I enjoy teaching and sharing my experiences and learnings related to research and leadership. To pursue it and with an intention to contribute back to our society I run a non profit organisation “Generation Z+” that aims at providing opportunities to hone and learn “21st century skills” like public speaking and networking skills, career in science (coding, AI, data science, Iot) to students forom blue collar families in India. I have reached 300+ students as a part of the pilot programme, find more about it here. I was awarded United Nations Millenium fellowship in 2020 for training and developing Generation Z+ from United Nations Acapdemic Impact. Additionally I am graduate teaching assstant for the course Data Science : Theory and Practice for July-Nov 2021 at IIT Madras.

When I am not doing research and attending lectures at my university, I enjoy going for runs in the nature, music and singing.I have been training in Classical Hindustani Classical Music for past 3 years now. I have been Mezzo Soprano Lead in my Institute Acapella Team. I also have been playing sarod and guitar since 2012, and I recently gifted myself a beautiful artic white Fender Affinity Stratocastor electric guitar from my savings (which was a dream come true)!!
